On August 27, 2026, Associate Professor Dr. Sarawut Thepanondh, Dean of the Faculty of Public Health, Mahidol University, delivered welcoming remarks to the distinguished guests and opened the event “Fulbright Partnership & Freedom 250” On this occasion, the event was honored by Professor Dr. Nopraenue Sajjarax Dhirathiti, Vice President for Global Partnerships and University Council, Mahidol University, and Dr.Vipat Kuruchittham, Executive Director of Fulbright Thailand - United States Educational Foundation

(Fulbright Thailand), who together spoke on educational cooperation between the United States and Thailand. Professor Dr. Hongjie Liu, Fulbright Specialist, University of Maryland, delivered a special lecture titled “Reflections on the Fulbright Partnership: American Public Health and U.S.–Thai Collaboration.” Following this, the distinguished guests joined a reception celebrating the 80th anniversary of Fulbright and the Freedom 250 project, along with a group photograph to strengthen goodwill and build international collaborative networks, held at the Faculty of Public Health, Mahidol University.

On August 6, 2026, Associate Professor Dr. Sarawut Thep-Anoop, Dean of the Faculty of Public Health, Mahidol University, presided over the opening of an academic seminar titled “Association Models and Causal Analysis in Epidemiology.” The event featured Professor Dr. Hongjie Liu from the School of Public Health, University of Maryland, USA—a visiting professor supported by the Fulbright Specialist Program—as a keynote speaker. Professor Liu shared global perspectives and research experiences on association models and causal analysis in epidemiology, which are essential tools for public health research and development. The seminar took place at the Faculty of Public Health, Mahidol University, and was broadcast live via Zoom Meeting.
Jointly organized by the Department of Epidemiology and the Department of Biostatistics, the seminar aimed to foster an academic environment, promote the exchange of knowledge and experience among scholars, and enhance the research capabilities of faculty members, researchers, and interested participants.
